TIGER CLAW 64KB - A beat 'em up game by Matthias 'Lazycow' Bock and Saul 'Saulc12' Cross, released exclusively on cartridge by RGCD for backers of the C64 in Pixels Kickstarter (Fusion Retro Books, 2016).

INTRODUCTION

Four magic scrolls have been stolen by the three lords of evil.

Help TIGER CLAW on his path to retrieve the four valuable scrolls before Fire Fist, Thunder Chain and Angry Tongue can reveal their full potential.

Fortunately, Master Lee transferred some of the scrolls' power into the four masks of endurance before the scrolls were taken. Find the masks and use them wisely.

As Confucius said: "He that would perfect his work must first sharpen his tools."

LOADING TIGER CLAW

To load the TIGER CLAW cartridge, turn off your C64/128, insert the cartridge and turn the computer back on. The game will load automatically.

If you are presented with a blank screen or graphic garbage, please try turning off the C64 and re-inserting the cartridge again. Issues like this are most likely due to an oxidised cartridge port (after all, we are talking about 30 year old technology here), so please check and clean the port - or even try the game on another C64 - before contacting us for a replacement.

TIGER CLAW has been tested on both PAL and NTSC machines, and works on the C64, C128 and C64GS (there is no keyboard input required to play). TIGER CLAW has full NTSC support, and the game and music run at the same speed as on PAL systems.

PLAYING TIGER CLAW

TIGER CLAW is played by using a joystick or joypad plugged into port two. When the game has completed loading, you'll be prompted to 'Press Button'. Hit the FIRE button and the main menu will be displayed. From here you can select a variety of options and game modes using the joystick.

* TRAINING MODE starts the single-player, wave-based training mini-game. Hone your combat skills here!
* VERSUS MODE starts the multi-player versus mode (supports two to four players). Please note:
  - Fire Fist, Angry Tonge and Thunder Chain are only available in two player mode.
  - Three player mode and four player mode require the Protovision four player adapter.
  - It is recommended that all weapons are removed from the vicinity where you are playing. Versus matches can become very competitive!
* MUSIC acts as a jukebox from which you can listen to the entire game soundtrack.
* DIFFICULTY
  - STANDARD (default).
  - EASY (smaller map, only one wave of enemies in each room, enemies react slower and do not use ranged-attacks).
  - HARD (same map as in STANDARD mode, but hero starts with less health and the floor has less friction. Enemies are unlimited in number and react deadly-fast).
* START begins the game.

Note that an ATTRACT MODE starts automatically after a few seconds if an option is not selected. Press FIRE or move the joystick to return to the menu.
